My rule for brownies is that they should never be cut even. I cut the middle into bigger squares for my husband, who likes the gooey ones, and the edges into smaller scraps for me, because I will eat four edge pieces if they exist, which is structurally one brownie. If you cut them even, you lose this logic. You lose the brownie economy. This plate was a Wednesday evening. The whole plate was gone by Thursday afternoon.
