Chicken marsala, garlic bread

Friday. I’d been thinking about chicken marsala for a week and couldn’t stop, the way some dishes get stuck in your head like a song you didn’t choose, and finally I just bought the mushrooms and made it. Spaghetti underneath, garlic bread tucked into the side of the bowl so the bread would get a little of the sauce on it, which is the only correct place to put garlic bread when a plate has sauce. My husband agreed. He grinned at me across the bowl.
